Older People's Day Events at Hanover Estates

To celebrate Older People's Day on 1 October 2014 we're holding events at a number of our estates. We'll be adding to this list in the coming weeks, so browse what's on offer and join in the fun!

Hanover Court, Keighley

Tuesday 30 September 10am - 2.30pm
A free event at Victoria Hall in Keighley. Organised in conjunction with Keighley and Ilkley Voluntary Action, the theme is the 'Swinging 60’s'. There will be stalls, music and food, including a cake stall hosted by residents at Hanover Court, Keighley to raise funds for social outings. Book your place by 25 September.

Lychgate Court, Finchley

Tuesday 30 September at 4.30pm
High afternoon tea with entertainment from Ian Royce, one of the most exciting  improvisation comedians in the country. The special guest at the event will be Luciana Berger Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Public Health (incl. Mental Health).

Ash Lea Court, Bristol

Wednesday 1 October 12pm - 4pm
People in the local community are invited to join the residents of Ash Lea Court for a 70s themed three-course lunch to celebrate Older People's Day. As well as lunch there will be 70s music being played and a 70s quiz with afternoon tea. Anyone wishing to join in should book in advance by calling the Estate Manager on the number below.

Blaise Weston Court, Bristol

Wednesday 1 October 1pm - 6pm
A 'Singing for Older People's Health and Well-being' music festival that is open to the whole of the community, with all ages welcome. Including nursery rhymes, Blaise Weston staff performing 'The Sound of Music', Native American drumming and chanting, and a gospel choir.

Wednesday 1 October
A chance for older persons in the community to join the residents of Hanover Court Dulverton for a three-course lunch to celebrate Older People's Day. Anyone wishing to join in should book in advance by calling the Estate Manager on 01398 324076.

Wednesday 1 October

Hanover House, Jarrrow

Wednesday 1 October 10am onwards
To celebrate the day, there will be a mini bus to Whitley Bay and Tynemouth (coastal route) then on to 'The Waterfront' restaurant in North Shields for a fish and chip lunch.

Hanover House, Leicester

Wednesday 1 October 10am - 12 noon
This coffee morning event will be held at St Mary's Church Hall next to the estate. Members of the Sikh community have been invited and there will also be arm and chair exercises. The local police will send a representative to discuss safety and other issues, and there will be tables for card making, glass painting and other crafts.

Fundraising coffee morning to support Macmillan Cancer Nurses and make a worthwhile contribution to the local community. There will be a cake stall, tombola and raffle tickets (which will be sold by residents).

A skills sharing party is taking place in the residents' lounge. Please bring something you'd like to share with pupils from Tadcaster Grammar School, such as  knowledge, photos and recipes from the past.
