Celebrations in Hackney
There was much to celebrate in Hackney last Monday, as residents joined contractors and Hanover staff to celebrate the successful delivery of the Hackney promises.
Residents, including Mrs Gupsy Agolia-Aspinall, Resident Council Member for the London & Thames Region, told the group how the improvements to entrances, lounges communal areas, lifts, gardens and laundry facility had made them proud of their estates, and had help to improve the sense of community. Lounges that had been unused for years are now much in demand and residents who had not previously socialised are making new friends.
The improvement works, which were completed in less than six months, cost nearly four million pounds and will benefit over 700 residents. Hanover Chief Exeutive, Bruce Moore and Tony Tench, Retirement Housing Director attended the celebration to hear first hand from residents what the improvement had meant to them and their neighbours; as did Rona Nicholson, Chief Operating Officer at Hanover, who concluded the event with a big thank you to all involved.
