Hanover earns top three placing at National Training Journal awards
Hanover is the only housing association to achieve two top three placings at the Training Journal’s National Training Awards.
The retirement housing provider was 'commended' in the 'Best Not-for-profit' category for its innovative training initiatives that have provided two fully funded 'chartered' in-house qualification programmes for its staff, with the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Institute of Housing.
Hanover’s placing is thanks to two innovative in-house programmes; the Aspire Management Development programme has led to the organisation becoming the first housing association to be given ‘CMI Approved Centre’ status and a foundations programme for housing staff leading to a Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 Diploma.
With the number of entries up by more than 40 per cent the awards are highly regarded as the most prestigious within the Learning and Development industry.
As an added bonus Hanover’s Learning and Development Manager, Andy Lancaster gained second place and was “highly commended” in the 'Learning and Development Professional of the Year' category. Hanover was the only third sector organisation to be shortlisted as a finalist in this section.
Bruce Moore Chief Executive for Hanover said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Andy and the Learning and Development team considering that this result comes hot on the heels of the first group of managers to graduate the Aspire Management Development Programme.”
