Hanover is the only Housing Association to win Chartered Management Institute endorsement
Hanover is the first housing association to be recognised as a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) centre. The news demonstrates Hanover’s unparalleled commitment in the sector to its staff. The news comes just weeks after Hanover was awarded the prestigious Customer Excellence accreditation in recognition of the service it offers its residents.
CMI is the only chartered body in the UK specialising in management and leadership, and therefore sets the national standards for UK leaders and managers.
Public sector and other employers can apply to become an accredited CMI centre, allowing them to deliver top-level leadership training. Following a rigorous assessment, Hanover’s application to deliver a new level five Diploma in Management & Leadership - equivalent to a foundation degree - in-house was unamimously approved.
Bruce Moore CEO said: “This success demonstrates the commitment that Hanover has to its staff; and comes hot on the heels of our recent Customer Excellence Award that recognised our commitment to residents. Investment in our managers will be a source of improvement for the services we provide for our residents.”
Ruth Spellman, chief executive of CMI, said: "The key to improving management is knowing what is wrong, and it’s time for managers to get serious about their development, play to their strengths and develop any weaker areas. We're delighted that Hanover will be working with CMI to develop managers, and the leaders of the future, because with better qualified managers and leaders comes better quality service and results."
