Our Estate Manager Richard has worked for Hanover since November 2008
Following my retirement following 30 years working as a police officer, I was looking for something varied, interesting and challenging.
Step forward Hanover! I have been a member of the Hanover team as an Estate Manager for 18 months now and I can assure you there has never been a dull moment!
Although I work alone, I am never lonely (my residents see to that) and my superb line manager is only a call or an email away. Our regular team get-togethers are always enjoyable, informative, and, well, good fun to be honest! They reinforce the feeling of belonging to, and being a valued part of, the Hanover family. My ongoing training is allowing me to acquire and develop fascinating new skills, equipping me to serve my residents more efficiently and professionally.
Speaking of residents, those on my estate vary enormously in age, character, needs, lifestyle, and in what they expect of me as their EM. Working one-to-one with a resident is part of my daily working life, be it fine tuning a support plan, help with a benefits claim form or care package, even arranging for a contractor to unblock a drain or fix a defective lock. Being able to enhance the quality of life for my residents and ensure they maintain their independence for as long as possible is proving immensely rewarding for me, reinforcing my conviction that I made the right choice coming to work for Hanover. Judging by the good humour, positive attitude and friendliness I encounter when contacting either the regional offices or head office, I reckon they must be having a good time too!
