Retirement Housing

What is Retirement Housing?

Retirement Housing is a truly flexible option: living in your own one or two bedroom property, you’ll enjoy all the usual independence and benefits expected of your own home, with the reassurance of knowing that help and support is on hand should you need it.

We have Retirement Housing properties in approximately 600 locations across England. These properties typically offer:

  • Fitted kitchen
  • Bathroom with easy access baths and/or showers
  • Your own living/dining room and separate bedroom(s)
  • Many properties also enjoy on-site facilities such as a guest room, laundry, residents’ lounge and landscaped gardens
  • 24/7 alarm call monitoring service from Hanover on Call

Some of our Retirement Housing estates also have a guest room - perfect for when friends or family come to visit.

Support services

Although Hanover doesn’t provide personal care services directly, we can provide help and advice on the best ways for you to access local care services. Further information is available on our Access to care page.

Pets policy

We know how important pets can be and that’s why we have a pet-friendly policy. In recognition of our commitment to maintaining pet friendly properties, the RSPCA has awarded Hanover its prestigious Silver Community Animal Welfare Footprint. These awards are part of a scheme designed to celebrate, promote and reward the work of housing providers in a number of areas that have an impact on animal welfare.

You’re welcome to bring your pet with you to live in your Hanover property, although you should check this with your local estate manager first. Full details of our policy can be found in our Pets helpsheet.
