Hanover Housing Association shortlisted for two Investors in People international awards
24 March 2015
Hanover Housing Association has been named as a global leader in people management practice, having been shortlisted in two categories at the annual Investors in People Awards.
The awards are in their second year and will once again showcase the organisations that are delivering best practice in people management within their sector.
Hanover is one of six contenders in the category Excellence in Leadership and Management, and one of seven contenders for Excellence in the Third Sector.
The shortlisting is thanks to Hanover’s significant investment in training and development of its staff, particularly managers. Evidence gathered in a recent IIP assessment – following which Hanover retained its IIP "Gold" status – suggested that this had a positive impact on performance of the managers and their teams.
Hanover had not only met the criteria for the IIP standard, but ‘had considerably exceeded it’, the assessors stated.
The awards attracted a huge response from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, with submissions from across the world.
Rona Nicholson, Deputy Chief Executive of Hanover says: ’It is a privilege to be shortlisted for these awards and is a clear indication of the dedication and hard work the team has invested in the organisation. We are looking forward to finding out the results June.’
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, adds: ’Once again we have been overwhelmed by the number and calibre of entries received for the Investors in People Awards. It’s fantastic to see so many organisations nominated for out-performing in their sector, demonstrating great people management practice and a commitment to staff development.’
The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at the Tower of London on Friday 24 June.
