New Extra Care scheme opened in Ealing

Hanover Housing Association, in partnership with the London Borough of Ealing and Ealing PCT officially opened ‘Moorlands,’ retirement housing accommodation for people who need extra care. This is a state of the art £5.3m development was designed to provide older people with the option of living in a contemporary serviced environment that meets both their needs and aspirations.

 Moorlands provides an environment for people who wish to retain their independence for as long as possible, but who may need help and support on a regular basis. Each of the 35 properties has high quality living facilities:  the one and two bedroom apartments feature a fitted kitchen, level access shower, efficient gas and heating and solar powered hot water. Residents are well supported by the 24/7 Hanover on Call service providing residents with a reasuring emergency response service as well as an experienced care team and Hanover’s support team, all of which help residents to maintain an independent approach to retirement living.

 “Hanover provides affordable retirement property, with a range of care and support services referred to as Extra Care, for older people to rent or buy. Our development in Ealing is the first of its type in the borough and enables older people to choose to live in a housing environment with a range of high quality facilities and services that make life that bit easier.  We are delighted with the development and how well it has been received, with all the apartments being occupied within three months of completing construction,” said Tony Tench, Director Extra Care & Services.
