For most of our Extra Care Housing estates we have agreements with the local authority to let a percentage of our vacant properties to people nominated by them. Hanover’s agreement for this estate is that all of the allocations are managed by the local authority, North East Lincolnshire Council, who can be contacted on 01472 326296.

Scunthorpe has two major shopping centres at the Foundry and the Parishes. There are also many popular retailers on the High Street. Larger shopping centres are available in nearby Grimsby, Hull, Doncaster, Lincoln, Leeds and Sheffield. You’ll find all the major supermarkets have stores here.
Other facilities include The Pods leisure centre, a museum, art galleries, craft centres, several pubs and a multiplex cinema near the town centre.
History and culture
For those with an interest in history and art, the North Lincolnshire Museum and the Visual Arts Centre are worth a visit. Musical and theatrical events take place at The Baths Hall and The Plowright Theatre.
Normanby Hall Country Park is not far away for an enjoyable day out, with its award winning gardens and historic Regency mansion. The Farming Museum re-creates rural life in years gone by and gives an insight into what North Lincolnshire was like then.
Located just off the A1029, Ashby Meadows is easy to find via the A18 and is not far from both the M180 and M181. Although the town itself is quite industrial, it is surrounded by open farmland and wooded areas. Nearby towns and cities include Hull, Doncaster and Grimsby.
Scunthorpe railway station has trains from Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes. The town’s bus station is off Fenton Street for services within and out of the town. Humberside Airport is a short drive to the east along the M180.
