Chestnut Court is a development of 32 one bed bungalows and one and two bed apartments with shared gardens, lounge and scooter store situated on the outskirts of Lincoln. It is near to doctors, dentist and local shops, and it is on a bus route into the town centre.
There’s plenty of opportunity to get involved with the resident community, with coffee mornings and exercise. You won’t have to worry about buildings and grounds maintenance or repairs as an on-site manager looks after these points, as well as helping you to access further help and support if you need it.
Lincoln is a cathedral city. It has a choice of five large national supermarkets. On the first Thursday of December until the Sunday the Bailgate area of the city holds its annual Christmas Market in and around the Castle grounds and cathedral area. The town has local libraries. There are several parks within Lincoln, Hartsholme Country Park, Boultham Park and the Arboretum.
Lincoln is steeped in history with a variety of architecture ranging from roman, medieval to present day. Outside the precincts of the cathedral and castle, the old quarter is clustered around the Bailgate. Steep Hill to High Bridge has some fine examples of half-timbered housing, with the upper storeys jutting out over the river. Lincoln Castle was constructed during the late 11th century by William the Conqueror on the site of a pre-existing Roman fortress. The castle is unusual in that it has two moats.
Lincoln has good road links to Nottingham, Grantham and seaside resorts. The city’s railway station operates services to Newark-on-Trent, Nottingham, Grimsby, Peterborough and London. A local bus service operates around the town.
