The town features some of the most historic architecture in Suffolk. Ipswich is home to many artists and has a number of galleries. The historic Blackfriars area on the waterfront has a lively mix of eateries, bars, coffee shops and independent boutiques. The town has a fine array of high street stores in the Buttermarket and Tower Ramparts shopping centres. There are three theatres, two museums and an abundance of smaller shops and restaurants.

The Ipswich Arts Festival, known as Ip-art, is the town’s annual summer arts festival. At nearby Bucklesham village you’ll find Trinity Park, home to the annual Suffolk Show. Christchurch Mansion houses a fine collection of art from Suffolk artists including Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. Holywells Park, painted by Gainsborough, is located near the docks and Alexandra Park near the waterfront.

Felaw Street is located just off the A137 Vernon Street, not far from the A14 and A12. Known as East Anglia’s premier waterfront town, Ipswich is a historic Suffolk town on the River Orwell. Ipswich railway station is not far away for services to London, Norwich and Lowestoft. Nearby towns are Felixstowe, Needham Market and Stowmarket in Suffolk and Harwich and Colchester in Essex. Stansted airport and Harwich International Port are within an hour’s drive.
