Local facilities

Nottingham is a historic city in the East Midlands, located near the Peak District National Park. With an eclectic mix of old and new buildings, the compact city centre includes two modern shopping malls and lots of bars and restaurants. The renowned Lace Market in Hockley is where many of Nottingham's unique, independent shops are to be found. It is also home to the renowned Broadway independent cinema complex.

Many visitors are attracted to Nottingham by the legend of Robin Hood, enjoying a visit to Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle. Pleasant walks can be taken at Wollaton Park, the Arboretum, Highfields Park and Colwick Park. Greens Windmill, near the city centre, is a popular attraction with a working mill, museum and science centre.

Nottingham has a number of famous institutions and venues - including the National Ice Centre, the National Water Sports Centre, a world-famous Test cricket ground, two professional English Football League teams, and top-flight cricket and ice hockey sides.

For those interested in art and culture, Nottingham has three large capacity theatres, the Nottingham Playhouse, Royal Concert Hall and the Theatre Royal.  There are also several art galleries, including the new Nottingham Contemporary and a vibrant music scene, with the Nottingham Arena attracting the biggest names in popular music. The annual Nottingham Goose Fair, held during the first week of October, is one of the largest and oldest travelling fairs in Europe.

Location and transport links

Hanover Court is situated just off the A6002, not far from junction 26 of the M1. The motorway and rail services connect to many major cities including Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Manchester and London, while bus services run from Nottingham to locations throughout the country. The East Midlands airport is also nearby. Trams run from the city centre to Hucknall and the Phoenix Park and Ride close to Junction 26 of the M1 - additional routes currently under construction will connect to the Queen Medical Centre Hospital.
