Walsall's two indoor shopping centres at The Old Square and Bradford Mall provide a good mix of large stores and independent boutiques together with cafés, restaurants and teashops. The town also has good sports facilities and a leisure centre. The Gala Baths has the only brine pool in the region, containing warm, relaxing salty waters.

The Arboretum is a beautiful Victorian park containing two boating lakes, tennis courts, gardens and an outdoor swimming pool. It is located just five minutes walk from Walsall town centre, offering some fine woodland views.

Walsall is located northwest of Birmingham and east of Wolverhampton. The town is served by the A34, the A454 and the M6 for road travel.
