Art and culture
The Witham Amateur Operatic society produces two shows a year using full staging and orchestra, as well as many other shows, comedies and films. In nearby Chelmsford the Civic Theatre, a 505 seat auditorium offers a varied programme of large scale professional, touring and amateur events from classical drama and dance to an eclectic musical programme and all time family favourites. Location and transport links
Witham is served by Witham railway station, situated on the London Liverpool Street to Ipswich main line. Trains take approximately 40–45 minutes to reach Liverpool Street. The station is also the junction for the Braintree branch line to Braintree, Braintree Freeport, Cressing and White Notley. This development lies just off the main A12 to the east of the B1018.
