For most of our Extra Care Housing estates we have agreements with the local authority to let a percentage of our vacant properties to people nominated by them. The local leisure centre has an excellent choice of sports facilities and swimming pools. There’s also a tenpin bowling alley and a pitch and putt. Just outside the town is the Abbotsley Golf Hotel and Country Club which has a golf course and leisure club. Huntingdon racecourse is also only eight miles away.
Out and about
The Common, Priory and Riverside parks are set amongst huge weeping willow trees. Here you’ll find lakes for boating and fishing, picnic areas and many marked cycle and footpaths. Popular events in St Neots include the Folk Festival, Food and Drink Festival, Music in the Park and the Rowing Regatta.
Paxton Pits is a nature reserve at Little Paxton, located next to the Great Ouse river. There is a wealth of wildlife and wild flowers to enjoy all year round, and a network of marked paths.
St Neots is the largest town in Cambridgeshire, only a half hour drive from Cambridge. Poppyfields is on Chapman Way just off the A428, which links to the A1 for London and Peterborough. The nearby A14 provides access to the Midlands and East Anglia.
St Neots railway station provides half-hourly trains to London and Peterborough. Many bus services operate across the local area and beyond. The town is within an hour's drive of both Luton and Stansted airports.
