Ampthill Park was designed by Capability Brown and Katherine of Aragon is said to have been imprisoned there, whilst awaiting her fate. Westminster Pond, a great place for fishing and jogging, is located on the outskirts of Ampthill.
The Greensand Ridge Walk is Bedfordshire’s premier long distance footpath. The route has been split into five sections to enable you to walk it in stages or as a whole with routes from Ampthill.
Five miles away is Wrest Park an English Heritage property incorporating Britain's largest and most important 'secret gardens'. Enjoy miles of reinstated historic pathways as you discover the garden buildings, pavilion and statues. Priory Country Park is an established green area, of around 360 acres, made up of lakes, meadows and woodland with green flag status.

Ampthill is on the A507 which connects to junction 13 of the M1, providing links to the M25 and London. Nearest railway stations are Millbrook which provides services between Bletchley and Bedford and Flitwick which provides an excellent service between Bedford and Brighton, calling at London stations on the way. Local bus services operate to the nearby towns of Bedford, Bletchley and Luton.
