Bolton is a north west town in Greater Manchester, close to the West Pennine Moors. Visitors flock to the historic Smithills Hall manor house and country park. There is a large central library, aquarium, museum, art gallery, concert halls, sports clubs as well as shopping centres, Victorian market hall, pubs, restaurants and cafés.

There are also some lovely scenic walks to be enjoyed in the surrounding area. For sports enthusiasts the town is home to local football team Bolton Wanderers, and there are other local football, rugby and cricket clubs nearby. The brand new Bolton One leisure centre including 25 metre swimming pool is only about half a mile away.

Art and Culture

Bolton's 26 conservation areas contain 700 listed buildings, many of which are in the town centre, and there is parkland including the Victorian Queen's Park, Leverhulme Park and other open spaces in the surrounding area.

The Bolton Symphony Orchestra performs regular concerts at the Albert Halls and Victoria Hall in the town centre. Bolton has several theatres including the Octagon and independent groups such as Bolton Little Theatre and the Phoenix Theatre Company. Inside the Town Hall there is a theatre and conference complex, the Albert Halls. Bolton Museum and Art Gallery has a fine collection of both local and international art.

Location and transport links

This development is conveniently situated just off the A579, near junction 4 of the M61. Regular bus services run to many locations including nearby Bury, Wigan and Chorley.

The town has a mainline station with frequent trains running into Manchester, Wigan, Southport and Blackburn. There are excellent transport links in the town including a bus station with National Express services running to Manchester and other towns.
