Local facilities

Bradford-on-Avon is a very scenic town in west Wiltshire. There is a good range of shops, delis, restaurants, butchers, bakers, tea rooms, pubs and a supermarket. The council run swimming pool is located in the town centre.

Bradford-on-Avon offers angling and boating on the canal.  The particularly attractive mile and a half stretch of the Kennet and Avon canal from Bradford to Avoncliff is popular with narrow boaters, joggers, cyclists and walkers. It is possible to hire bikes from the local Lock Inn Café. Bath is only 10 minutes away by train.

Lots to do

A notable feature of Bradford-on-Avon is the huge grade II* listed tithe barn, 180 feet long and 30 feet wide, which was constructed in the 14th century. Theatre productions are sometimes held here along with art exhibitions.

Bradford is also home to a very successful rowing club and you will often see scullers and rowers out on the River Avon early in the morning.

Transport links

Bradford-on- Avon lies on the A363 Trowbridge to Bath road, which runs through the town from south to north. Bradford-on-Avon railway station operates services to Bristol, Cardiff, London, Plymouth and Southampton. Local buses run to Trowbridge and Bath for a wider range of shops and amenities.
