Local facilities

Bude is a small but popular seaside town in north Cornwall. As well as traditional seaside style shops there is a department store and a delicatessen. Just a mile or two from the town centre is a cinema showing the latest big screen releases. A varied programme of drama, classical music and opera is on offer at the North Devon Theatres. The town also has numerous art galleries to browse around.

Along the coast

The coastline at Bude is noted for its geological interest. There are several nature reserves which attract a diverse range of wildlife and seabirds. Lundy Island, just off the North Devon coast is a popular destination for day trippers via boat.

The area has many quaint villages filled with olde worlde charm. There are also areas of historical interest, such as Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. You can visit the dramatic cliff top castle ruins, which date back to the 12th/13th century.
