External Policy & Research
Hanover uses its collective knowledge and experience to shape external policy and position ourselves as the leading provider of older people's housing.
The number of older people in society is rising, presenting challenges to policy-makers and service providers alike. Examining future needs, expectations and aspirations is essential if we are to provide good quality services to older people, when they need them.
In an era of partnership-working and ‘localism’, it is also important to ensure good links with other organisations.
Research and policy activity at Hanover seeks to:
-
better identify what our current and future residents need and want, improving their quality of life;
-
evaluate trends which may impact on service provision
-
support, with evidence, innovation wherever new solutions are needed;
-
share our good practice with others;
-
raise awareness and promote understanding of retirement housing and of the changing ageing market;
-
influence policy decisions so that Hanover can continue to innovate and meet older people’s needs.
Some of our research is made publicly available in a series of specially prepared publications, Insights, which are used to disseminate important information about housing and care options for older people.
