Residents hold 1940s tea party on the eve of remembrance day
Residents from our retirement housing estate in Little Horton Green, Bradford polished their war medals and donned their army uniforms when they joined their friends and neighbours for a 1940s tea party on the eve of remembrance day.
Nearly forty residents attend the party which included a charity raffle and commemorative afternoon tea.
To mark the Navy, Army and Air force Institutes (NAAFI) presented residents with copies of its 90th anniversary commemorative book and some specially blended afternoon tea.
The book, illustrates the history of the organisation which starts from simple beginnings through to the World War II and more recently desert storm.
Hanover resident Florence Bates said: “I really enjoyed the party, it was a great opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea with new friends whilst remembering older ones”.
“I‘m looking forward to spending time reading the NAAFI book.”
