Residents in Folkestone boost donations to Kent Air Ambulance

A generous donation from residents of a retirement housing estate owned and managed by Hanover will go towards helping the Kent Air Ambulance provide a life saving service to the people of Kent.

Residents of Hanover House presented a cheque for £700 to Stephen Johns, Fundraising Support Officer for the air ambulance on Thursday, 20 October.

Hanover resident Linda Keeler said: “We were all very keen to help such a worthy cause. You never know when you might need their help.”
“A couple of years ago the Air Ambulance saved my son’s life, when he had fallen off his bike. The Air Ambulance was able to reach him in a landscape which was not accessible to land crews.”

“We decided the best way to raise money was to hold a mini fete on the estate. Friends and neighbours helped by donating cakes, arts and crafts items and lucky dips. Everyone pulled together on what proved to be a fantastic day.”

Stephen Johns, from the Air Ambulance said: “It is always a pleasure to meet people who fundraise for us and I enjoyed meeting the residents from Hanover House. I would like to thank them all for their generosity and support.”
