Telecare services
Hanover on Call can also help access enhanced technology that may assist frailer or disabled residents to remain living independently. Telecare (or assistive technology) is generally provided by the local authority with Hanover on Call providing the monitoring service. The type of equipment available includes:
-
Fall detectors - which when worn, activate an automatic alert if someone falls over and may be unconscious or unable to call for help themselves
-
Flood detectors – which give an early automatic warning of a bath or sink overflowing if, for example, a tap has been left on
-
Occupancy sensors – which automatically create an alarm call if someone falls out of, or fails to get in or out of a bed or chair
These are just a few examples of the huge range of Telecare equipment that can be used to help residents remain in their home; more advanced and sophisticated equipment is constantly becoming available for an increasing range of situations. We work closely with social services departments and care agencies to ensure that appropriate equipment and telecare services are provided to benefit residents.
Hanover on Call is also the Emergency Planning Control Centre for any major incident on any of Hanover's estates.
