Mothering Sunday is a day when children express their love and thanks to their mothers through cards, flowers and presents. The roots of this annual calendar event go back to the 17th century when children who had left home to take up work received a day off so that they could go and visit their families.
Over the past century Mothering Sunday and Mother's Day (the latter originating in America in the early 20th century) have come to share very similar sentiments.
In celebration of this special day, we have some wonderful stories to share from our Hanover estates.
Hanover wishes a very Happy Mother's Day to all mums everywhere!
