Bev Swift has overall responsibility for the Finance team, and for promoting sound financial management across the Hanover Group. Finance is comprised of a number of sub-teams, including income management/rents, accounts payable, treasury, payroll and business services. Together, these teams make an important contribution to the smooth running and success of the organisation.
Bev joined Hanover in 2017, after having held Interim Finance Director roles at Three Valleys Housing Association, Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust, Staffs Housing Group and First Ark Group. Having trained in the financial services sector initially with the Halifax, Bev followed a traditional route working in all areas of finance and becoming a qualified FCMA accountant with both Prince 2 and MSP. Early on she realised she had a passion for projects and change management, eventually finding that her skill set was particularly suited to senior level interim roles.
Previously Bev served for 25 years in the Royal Signals unit of the reserve forces, reaching the rank of Captain. She also worked abroad several times, once spending 15 months in Kenya supporting a tropical research unit for Oxford University. Currently Bev volunteers her business skills to an NHS Trust that provides predominantly mental health care in both the community and prisons.
