Chris is responsible for a new Operations Directorate, bringing together Hanover’s housing and related services across its portfolio of Retirement Housing, Extra Care and new Downsizer properties. As such, his emphasis is on providing good quality housing for older people on an affordable basis, and on facilitating resilience, independence and wellbeing.
Chris’ career in care and support began in South East London where he worked as a mental health nurse. After owning his own care business in Ireland, he made his mark at Stonham Housing, subsequently at Midland Heart and most recently as Managing Director for Sanctuary Supported Living. Here, as well as being chair of a homeless social enterprise, he successfully introduced innovative and award- winning service models as well as contributing circa 20 per cent growth.
Chris has recently been chair of the National Housing Federation’s Care and Support Group, and is a recognised influencer in the supported housing sector, respected in particular for the central focus he places on the needs of the people whom the sector aims to serve.
