Professional qualifications and work-based skills

We’re keen for our people to work towards relevant professional qualifications and courses that will help them to perform their roles effectively. The support we offer includes:

  • Full or part-funding of tuition fees
  • Paid study leave
  • Contributions towards the cost of course books and materials
  • Fees for student membership of professional bodies

We encourage our employees to undertake Diplomas and National Vocational Qualifications in management, team leadership, customer care and business administration.

All of our employees also have the opportunity to take part in a rolling programme of optional seminars and IT training, depending on their learning and development needs.

E-learning and webinars

In addition to face-to-face training opportunities, we have Hanover E-Learning Opportunities (HELO), an e-learning system that makes it possible for all employees to access a range of online training courses at a time and place that suits them. Courses available within HELO cover personal and professional development topics, Microsoft Office skills and Hanover systems, policies, procedures and practice.

We also deliver webinars using Microsoft Lync to staff in their work location so that learning can take place without always having to travel to a central location.
