Local Area

Nottingham is located in the Midlands region, close to the scenic Peak District National Park. The city is most famous both for the legend of Robin Hood and also for being once the centre of the world’s lace-making industry. The hilltop Nottingham Castle has been rebuilt many times since the Middle Ages, and now houses an art gallery and museum. The city centre offers a variety of shops, markets, restaurants and bars, while others can be found within the historic Lace Market area, which also features the National Justice Museum. Pleasant walks can be enjoyed in Wollaton Park, which has an Elizabethan mansion and a deer park.

Runnymede Court is situated just off the A610 Alfreton Road, not far from the A60.  The M1 motorway and rail services connect to many major cities including Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Manchester and London, while bus services run from Nottingham to locations throughout the country.  The East Midlands airport is also nearby.  Trams run from the city centre to Hucknall and Phoenix Park close to Junction 26 of the M1.
