For most of our Extra Care Housing estates we have agreements with the local authority to let a percentage of our vacant properties to people nominated by them. Hanover’s agreement for this estate is that all of the allocations are managed by the local authority, London Borough of Bromley, who can be contacted on 020 8313 4098.
This Extra Care development for older people offers 50 apartments with access to a residents’ lounge, restaurant, laundry, hairdressers, guest room and attractive landscaped gardens. A variety of social activities are available for residents to enjoy.
An on-site manager looks after maintenance of buildings/grounds and can advise on other support issues. Further help and assistance can be accessed via a 24 hour emergency call system.
The properties are convenient for local shops, amenities, churches and transport links, while Penge High Street has chain stores, smaller shops, takeaways and pubs. Further high-street retailers, cafes, bars and restaurants can be found in Blenheim Shopping Centre.
Crystal Palace Park and The Churchill Theatre in Bromley are among the local attractions and are also within easy travelling distance.
The estate is accessed from Thesiger Road from the A213, whilst the A214 and A234 also pass through the area. There are many local bus services operating, plus Penge is also only ten minutes away from Crystal Palace bus station for services to central parts of London.
Kent House is the nearest railway station to Sutherland Court, offering services to London Victoria, London Blackfriars, Orpington and Beckenham, whilst Penge West has overland services to London Bridge, and the East London Line.
There is also the Tramlink service from Beckenham Road, which will take you to Croydon and beyond.
