We're committed to ensuring all of our homes are energy efficient and affordable to keep warm.
We're committed to ensuring all of our homes are energy efficient and affordable to keep warm, with good levels of insulation, double glazing, and efficient heating systems.
We have a number of estates using renewable energy sources - from solar panels, to heat pumps, to combined heat and power units that generate electricity on-site and use the heat produced from the process to heat the building.
We are members of SHIFT, the environmental accreditation scheme for social landlords that measures organisations against more than 50 environmental criteria, including CO2 emissions, water use, landfill waste and response to climate change risks.
If you feel your communal garden needs a boost or have a project idea why not have a look at the Greenshoots grant page.
Hanover buys the energy used in the communal areas of our buildings. To keep costs down as much as possible, we procure contracts every 12 months and try to buy as far in advance as possible when the market is looking most favourable. Purchasing annual fixed contracts means we avoid out of contract rates which can be up to 50% higher and change with the market.
