Full Of Life – Hanover Housing Association supports Older People’s Day

1 October 2015

In an environment where high quality housing and support services hold the key to later years living, Hanover Housing Association is once again proud to support Older People’s Day and recognise the achievements of its residents.

Supported by the Government and other agencies, UK Older People's Day, held on 1 October each year, celebrates the achievements and contributions made by older people to our society and the economy.

This year Hanover estates are holding celebratory events and we’re also busting stereotypes in ageing with a ‘Who’s done what’ challenge featuring a number of our residents who prove that age is no barrier in later life.

With ages ranging from 55 to107 Hanover residents cover a wide spectrum when it comes to celebrating life and personal achievement. There is a skydiver, a writer, an astrophysicist, and a man who overcame disability to take up competitive sailing.

Take Hanover’s 'Who's done what' challenge and see how you fare in the perceptions stakes.

John Baker, Department of Work and Pensions, Work and Wellbeing in Later Life team said: 'Hanover are key partners supporting Older People's Day and have some great events planned as part of the celebrations.'
