Demonstrating the housing sector's support for the LGBT community

Following Hanover's successful attendance at Pride in London last year, we will again be joining forces to demonstrate the housing sector's support for the LGBT community among their residents and staff.

Ladies Waving Rainbow Flags Aside
As part of the LGBT housing professionals group HouseProud, we will come together with several other housing associations to form an enormous walking group and open top bus at Pride in London on Saturday 8 July 2017.
We want to shout about our core value of inclusivity from the rooftops – or in our case, a bus top! It will be a fabulous day full of bubbles, face painting, music, dancing and fun.

In taking part in this event, we are demonstrating what can be achieved even in these times of austerity by working together across organisations.

The Pride in London event is about giving people the freedom to be themselves, celebrating our differences and promoting acceptance in the community. Therefore we and HouseProud are encouraging all staff and residents to join together in our support of the LGBT community.
Event details
  • Saturday 8 July 2017
  • 1pm until 4.30pm at Regents Crescent, London, and you can watch the parade from along the route
  • The event is free

If you are already attending the event, come and say hello and look out for the HouseProud bus and Hanover staff in their lime green t-shirts! Further information and details of exact timings and the route of the parade can be found on the Pride in London website.

HomeSAFE Survey

We are also part-funding research into the experiences of LGBT people who live in homes managed by housing associations like Hanover. We are funding the work with Genesis, Clarion, Amicus Horizon, Riverside and L&Q, who are also members of HouseProud.

If you are a Hanover customer who defines as LGBT, you can complete the HomeSAFE Survey and/or register your interest in attending a focus group HomeSAFE Registration. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Frances Saunders on 07895 656 222. The background information about the survey can be also be viewed here
