Following today’s report from the Communities and Local Government Committee, Hanover said:
'We welcome today’s CLG Committee report and its call to develop a national strategy for older people’s housing. The report outlines a range of measures that could make it easier for many people to move to appropriate housing that meets their needs in later life, something which will enable many to live independently for as long as possible. This is key to helping us reduce the burden on health and social care budget, something which is impacting many local authorities across the country.
'We hope the Government takes on board many of the recommendations outlined in the report, and look forward to being able to with alongside other stakeholders to ensure local housing needs are met and that we are able to support positive ageing for what is a growing segment of the population.'
