Bar Hill is a village around five miles north of Cambridge. It has a shopping mall with a large supermarket, library (with a Post Office inside) and pub, as well as a village green and sports field, which is the location for the annual village fête. There is also an 18 hole golf course and hotel.

Things to do

Bar Hill has a cycle path to Dry Drayton, known as The Drift. There is a footpath that leads to the small village of Lolworth. Nearby Cambridge is a historic university town full of local attractions.  The University has its own rowing club and most of the individual colleges have boathouses on the river. Shallower parts of the River Cam are used for recreational punting. Cambridge has a traditional theatre and arts centre. The Cambridge Folk Festival, one of the largest festivals of folk music in the UK, is held annually in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall on the outskirts of the city.
