Local facilities

Brampton is a large Cambridgeshire village close to the market town of Huntingdon. The village is very fortunate to have a good selection of shops together with a florist, two hairdressers, art gallery, gift shop, pet food store, and a fish and chip shop. Gardeners will enjoy visiting Frosts Garden Centre and River Lane Nurseries.

Things to do

There are some lovely playing fields in the centre of the village where football and cricket teams play in the winter and summer months.  Also on the playing fields is a play park for younger children, a youth shelter and a memorial garden with seating and an avenue of trees donated in memory of “loved ones”.

Brampton has its own golf club – an 18 hole course with a driving range and pro shop. It also has bar and catering facilities open to non-members.  The village also has a nationally recognised bowling green with a thriving club and for serious gardeners the Parish Council has 60 allotments which are rented out. Huntingdon Race Course is actually within the parish and has regular meetings.
