Points of interest
Dovercourt is rich with civil war history and the older part of the town has some interesting architecture. The Electric Palace cinema is one of the oldest cinemas to survive complete with its original projection room and ornamental frontage still intact.
The 1980s BBC sitcom Hi-de-Hi was filmed at Warner’s Holiday Camp in Dovercourt, which was transformed into Maplin’s for the programme.

Dovercourt is a suburb of Harwich and is the most northern coastal town within Essex. Hanover Court is on Old Vicarage Road, just off the B1352 Main Road. The town sits at the end of the A120, which joins with the A12 and A133. Nearby towns include Felixstowe, Ipswich, Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea.
The nearest railway station is Dovercourt which operates services to Manningtree, Harwich Town and London Liverpool Street.
