Wargrave is a pretty village in Berkshire close to the River Thames, 36 miles west of London. It has many old listed buildings, two marinas and a rowing club. In August, the traditional Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta is held over two days. It is the largest community event of the year, ending with a large firework display on the Saturday night.
Nearby Reading has The Oracle shopping centre, which has over 80 stores plus a cinema, restaurants, bars and cafés. There is a street market in Hosier and a farmers' market two Saturdays a month. Within the town hall is a large concert hall, while local theatres include the Hexagon and South Street arts centre.
Wargrave is on the A321 road, quickly accessible from the M4. The village has a railway station on the Twyford to Henley-on-Thames line, for connections to Reading and London Paddington.
