The beautiful ruins of Barking Abbey still stand in a stretch of parkland known as Abbey Green. The green is the setting for a classical concert which takes place each May.
Eastbury Manor House features a historic walled garden, art gallery and an exhibition on life in the manor. There is local nature reserve at Eastbrookend Country Park where you can enjoy walking, viewing wildlife and fishing on the park’s four lakes.
How to get here
Harp House is located on Helmore Road very close to the hospital and medical centre. The nearest underground station is Upney on the District Line. The town is situated north of the A13 road and east of the River Roding. Other major roads nearby are the A406 and A12.
Barking station has both underground and overground services, including those to Richmond, Southend and Wimbledon. Many bus routes operate from outside the station, including services to nearby Romford and Dagenham.
