Set in a picturesque riverside location within landscaped gardens, Helen Court offers 55 Extra Care apartments designed for the over 55s. A statue of the author Dorothy L. Sayers stands opposite the town's library, as a famous former resident of the town. The town plays host to the annual Witham Carnival in July and the International Puppet Festival in the autumn.
