Cottingham is an attractive village in Yorkshire. It has two main shopping streets, Hallgate and King Street, which cross each other. A popular market is held on Market Green every Thursday.

The Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin dates back to the 1300's. Cottingham is also home to the only remaining Regency theatre in England.
