Bar Hill has a cycle path to Dry Drayton, known as The Drift. There is a footpath that leads to the small village of Lolworth. Nearby Cambridge is a historic university town full of local attractions. The University has its own rowing club and most of the individual colleges have boathouses on the river. Shallower parts of the River Cam are used for recreational punting. Cambridge has a traditional theatre and arts centre. The Cambridge Folk Festival, one of the largest festivals of folk music in the UK, is held annually in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall on the outskirts of the city.
The development is conveniently situated just off the A14, near the M11. Regular bus services run to the nearby market towns of Huntingdon and St Ives. Cambridge is served by a mainline station with frequent trains running into London Kings Cross.
