The earliest mention of South Cave in literature appears in the 11th century. The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail passes to the east end of the village for pleasant walks.

South Cave is a village in East Yorkshire around 10 miles from Hull. South Cave is situated just off the end of the M62 with North Cave just 2 miles away. Wold View can be found just off Church Street, which is easily accessible from the A1034 and A63.

There is a railway station at nearby Brough runs services to Hull, York, Manchester and the seaside town of Scarborough. Local buses operate to Hull, Goole, North Cave and York.
