Digital training & funding

We can support residents with grant applications for digital training.

Hanover can support your resident group with grant applications to fund digital training. Courses take place on your own estate, or nearby if you don’t have a common room. An experienced tutor will help you gain the skills to get online and use the internet safely and securely. It will be your resident group that make the application for funding and you will need to have a bank account in place. Your group can be a formal group or an informal group, like a social committee for example.

Your digital training might include:

  • A long-term 12-week training course provided by an experienced tutor
  • Extra training support on a one-to-one basis in residents' homes if needed
  • Equipment (10-15 laptops) for use communally

Broadband/wifi in your communal area paid for one year

The grant required to do this is usually around £8,000. If you or your resident group doesn’t have any experience in completing funding applications, we can help you by:

  • Working with the estate manager and residents to make a funding application
  • Supporting you to gather and insert local information or residents' stories to demonstrate why you want digital training
  • Answering any questions and queries you may have

The following Hanover estates have already been successful and are currently enjoying training courses:

  • Aldwyn Place, Englefield Green (Surrey): received £10,550 funds
  • Hanover Court, Colindale (North London): received £10,550 funds
  • Hanover Court, Beverley (East Riding of Yorkshire): received £10,340 funds
