Scams are becoming increasingly commonplace, with scammers using a number of methods (phone calls, post, text messages, fake emails, doorstep calling, and so on) to try and extract money from people by accessing personal details such as name, address, passwords, bank account numbers and date of birth. 

Our approach

We take residents' safety and wellbeing very seriously. Please be aware that we will not contact residents by phone or by email to ask for personal details. If you are approached by anyone claiming to be from Anchor Hanover, please do not give them any of your personal information. If at any point you receive such calls or emails from anyone claiming to be from Anchor Hanover, it's really important that you let us know by reporting this to your estate manager or housing manager.

  • Citizens Advice has tips on reducing the chance of scammers obtaining your personal information via your computer, tablet or smart phone
  • Action Fraud is the UK’s national fraud and internet crime reporting centre. The service is run by the City of London Police working alongside the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau
